(Sarnia – September 23, 2024) Marilyn Gladu, Member of Parliament for Sarnia-Lambton, is excited to announce the restart of the Sarnia-Lambton Youth Advisory Council for this parliamentary session, which as of today is accepting applications from interested youth leadership candidates across the community. The closing date for the application process is October 9, 2024.
“From the moment I started campaigning before the 2015 election, right through until this very moment I have been constantly hearing from community members about the need for more leadership opportunities for youth across our community. Given my track record on leadership and mentoring I have taken the initiative of forming a non-partisan Youth Advisory Council, to help me perform my duties as the federal representative of Sarnia-Lambton. It is my duty to represent the people of my riding to the best of my ability, and in order to best live up to my commitments, I want to hear from youth about what matters most to them within our community,” says MP Gladu.
The Sarnia-Lambton Youth Advisory Council will consist of 10-15 youth who are aged 16- 21 (as of December 31, 2024) from our community that will meet monthly via Zoom. Candidates will be those who are passionate about making a change and becoming a leader in their communities. The members of the board will have the opportunity to provide feedback and input on issues before Parliament and those issues that should be before Parliament, by directly engaging with me as their federal representative.
This opportunity is non-partisan, as all young people from the community are encouraged to get involved. Interested youth are asked to please email their application to [email protected] .
