SARNIA, ON— Sarnia-Lambton MP Marilyn Gladu says she is happy to see the new regulations for cross-border travel eliminating the need for a negative molecular COVID-19 test for trips less than 72 hours for fully-vaccinated Canadians.
“This is a big win, as I have been advocating for the elimination of the PCR test to return to Canada, as it was a costly, burdensome measure preventing many from seeing their families across the border,” says MP Gladu.
“I’ve heard from countless constituents who say that the expensive test, and the time it takes to provide results, was preventing them from crossing. This is one fewer hurdle for businesses, families, and the local economy,” says MP Gladu.
The change in regulations is allegedly coming into effect soon, reportedly around the end of the month.
